Below are some of the major (international) airports that serve the nation by connecting it with the outside world:

Sir Seretse Khama Airport (SSKA)

SSKA is Botswana's gateway to the outside world.  Being situated only 15 kilometres from Gaborone, the capital, SSKA is the main link between the country and other destinations of the world. Botswana has a steady democracy, one of the best in Africa, a feature that has created a conducive atmosphere for foreign investors to come and set up various business ventures.

SSKA's operational hours are 0400 hrs to 2000 hrs (UTC) daily. The runway is of concrete standard and measures 3000 x 45 m. It can handle large international airliners like B747 aircraft.

The landing fees, parking fees, and other aeronautical charges are quite nominal and this further provides a golden opportunity for businesspersons around the world to consider Botswana as their next destination!

Kasane Airport

While Maun Airport is the gateway to the Okavango/Delta, Kasane Airport complements that by ushering a visitor into the unbelievable Chobe Game Reserve. From a tourist point of view, Kasane Airport is the last stop before (and a link to) Victoria Falls, one of the seven wonders of the world!

Its operational hours are seasonal and they are 0400-1630 hrs (UTC) between 1st September and 30th April and 0430-1600 hrs (UTC) between 1st May and 31st August. The runway is of Bitumen standard and (like Maun) measures 2000 x 30 metres.

Being roughly 100 kilometres away from the commercial farming area of Phandamatenga to the south, this airport is strategically situated for any professional farmer aiming for business in this country. Those eying other sectors of economy like manufacturing, service industry, etc. are welcome to do business in Kasane, a township with a lot of potential for future development.

Ghanzi Airport

Lying at the heart of Khalahari Desert, Ghanzi Airport provides an easy access to and the oasis for this part of the country. The airport is along the Trans-Kalahari Highway that connects South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia together.

The airport is 200 km from the Transfrontier Game Reserve, a joint venture between Governments of Botswana and South Africa.

Maun Airport

Maun Airport is the gateway to the magnificent Okavango/Delta and its natural environs of the true wilderness, the last paradise of Africa! Serving this tourist township of north-western Botswana, Maun Airport is the busiest airport in the country.

The airport operates daily between 0430 hrs and 1800 hrs (UTC). Its runway is of Asphalt-Concrete standard and measures 2000 x 30 metres.

Lying between the Makharikhari Salt Pans to the south and the Okavango/Delta to the north, Maun is proving to be the best choice for any business-minded individual, both foreign investors and locals alike. It is indeed the place to be at: businesspersons, tourists, researchers, etc.

Francistown Airport

Francistown Airport may not seem that busy today, but it has such a historic significance. It is one of the earliest aerodromes around the country, dating as far back as 1920 (see DCA History) and was used predominently by WENELA.

The airport provides access to this northern city of Botswana and for a long time it has been the alternate airport for Gaborone.

Selebi-Phikwe Airport

Until very recently, this airport was the main link between the tourist point of Mashatu Game Reserve, in the eastern corridor, and the "Last Paradise of Africa," the Okavango/Delta.
