The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) is the regulatory body for civil aviation in Botswana and is under the Ministry of Works and Transport.
Like many civil aviation authorities of the world, the DCA's mandate is double-fold: to regulate and promote (or develop) civil aviation in the country. The DCA management, in collaboration with other civil aviation authorities in the SADC Region, are making endless efforts to meet the provisions of universal safety oversight audit programme (USOAP) recently introduced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Our aim is to build a meaningful partnership with all the stakeholders in order to have a safe, dynamic, and efficient civil aviation industry that can stand the challenges of the new millennium. And, such challenges are indeed many, they include aviation security, safety oversight, the seamless upper air space, human factors, and more.
