What Does FOD Do?
The Flight Operations Division is another one of the dual divisions of Flight Safety in DCA and is responsible for the operational side of the aviation industry as well as the investigation of accidents and incidents. The unit delivers its services in accordance with Anex 1, 10, & 13 of ICAO, which lays out recommendations regarding international airmen licencing, operations, and investigation of accidents standards and procedures.
FOD Management and Staff
The head of FOD is Capt. S. Lloyd, who joined the department in 1988 as an expatriate officer, after serving for some time as a Wildlife pilot. He holds a Commercial Pilot Licence from Oxford Air Training School, Oxford, England.
The rest of his management team includes Capt. M. Sekwakwa, Capt. S. Nyoni, Mr. S. Rakgati, and others. The FOD staff members are mainly aircraft pilot.
