What Does AGSD Do?

The Aviation Ground Services Division is responsible for the smooth running of airports and air strips operation as well as airport security in the country. The unit delivers its services in accordance with Anex 12 & 16 of ICAO, which lays out recommendations regarding international airport operations and security standards and procedures. Two main sub-divisions fall under this division. They are Airport Management and Fire and Rescue

AGSD Management and Staff

The head of AGSD is Mr. S. Sidhu, who joined the department in 1987 as an expatriate officer. He holds a BSc. Degree in Management from the Unversity of India, New Dehli, India.

The rest of his management team includes Mr. Modise, Mr. M. Leselwa, Mr. Kgokong, Mr. Tlhalerwa, Mr. Setapenyana, and others. The AGSD staff members are mainly aircraft firefighters, airport managers, and administrators.
