What Does ATD Do?
The Air Transport Division is a multipurpose unit of the department. It is responsible providing advice to the director on legal, economic, and statistical matters of aviation nationally. The unit delivers its services in accordance with Anex 17 of ICAO, which lays out recommendations regarding international air transport standards and procedures.
ATD Management and Staff
The head of ATD is Mr. M. Mathibe, joined the department in 1983, after completing his general BSc Degree in Economics at the University of Botswana. He is currently on study leave doing his Master's Degree in Air Transport Management at Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. He localised the post of Senior Air Transport Officer in 1991. He was taking over from Dr. Bhatt.
The rest of his management team includes Mr. Rabasinki, Mr. Montie, Mr. J. Thebenala, and others. The ATD staff members are mainly aviation business administrators, aviation economists, statisticians, etc.
